Distinctly Spanish and surprisingly quiet
Estepona - true Andalusian charm
Estepona is a town and municipality that has largely retained its original Andalusian charm. Estepona is located on the western part of the Costa del Sol, only 50 minutes by car from Málaga airport. The municipality has 23 kilometres of coastline, 21 of which are made up of wonderful beaches.
The busy marina is home to some of the city's best restaurants and bars, as well as a lively fishing port where you can buy fresh seafood.
Many Blue Flag beaches
Several of Estepona's beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag, an international environmental label for beaches that meet a number of criteria in the areas of water quality, safety and services. In the centre of Estepona, for example, there is La Rada beach, a 2.5 km long beach lined with a nice promenade, bars and restaurants.
Another popular beach is Playa le Padron, which is about 2 kilometres from Estepona.
Buying a home in Estepona
Its proximity to Málaga airport and the Sierra Bermeja, the mountain behind Estepona that has great hiking trails, has made the town a long-time favourite with Swedes settling on the Costa del Sol. For many looking for authentic Andalusian charm on the Costa del Sol, Estepona is the obvious choice.
There are many apartments and houses for sale in Estepona and there is now a large amount of new housing being built in the area.
